Our projects have covered a variety of industries and business processes. Here is just a sampling of some of what we have done.

An Entertainment Company
DESC was initially brought in to support and expand the use of a legacy EDI tool. When the client decided to migrate to webMethods they turned to DESC to migrate them from the legacy EDI tool to webMethods 6.1.   DESC completed the migration in 6 weeks from the ground up. The project was centered on the Order Management cycle with such Transaction Sets as the ANSI X12 810,850, 855,852.

IT Services Companies
DESC was brought in for our expertise in EDI integration to migrate this client from a legacy EDI tool to the webMethods platform. We implemented EDI and EDIINT for this client in webMethods 6.01 in just 4 weeks. This project was also focused on the Order Management cycle utilizing ANSI X12 Transaction Sets 810 and 850’s.

DESC was retained, as Project Leader to implement EDI with Peoplesoft. Sterling Gentran Server with a SQL Server back-end was the product of choice. The project had a financial focus utilizing the ANSI X12 820, 821 and EDIFACT PAYEXT and FINSTA transaction sets. This was one of our most interesting projects due to its Global interaction with banks in Canada, the US and the UK.

DESC was brought in to implement an EDI Proof of Value utilizing webMethods 6.01 in a pre-sale negotiation for a Fortune 50 company in Canada. Our expertise to deliver the proof of value in 10 days won the sale. This short, time sensitive project was transportation based utilizing the ANSI X12 Transaction Sets 410, 404 and 850.

Manufacturing - Food, Footwear/Apparel
DESC was hired to maintain the existing EDI environment and to work as part of a team to migrate the environment to a new UNIX based environment. The product selected was Sterling's Gentran Server for UNIX with an Oracle back-end. The project was Logistics and Order Management oriented with emphasis on the both UCS and ANSI X12 850,810 and the Warehouse Transactions 940,944, 945. We went on to expand the clients EDI program to new customers.

This client retained the services of DESC to manage their Canadian EDI rollout program working in conjunction with their US team. When the project started they were running Gentran Mainframe, which was later upgrade to Gentran Server for UNIX and SAP.

DESC was hired to troubleshoot a Sterling Gentran for Windows implementation and complete the installation of Gentran. We were able to solve the problems and get the project back on track. Due to the success we had the client decided to retain our services to manage their global trading partner implementation for a division. Due to the global nature of the client the development of maps were done in both EDIFACT and ANSI X12. This was an Order Management based project utilizing the ANSI X12 830, 850, 856, 810, and 862 in multiple versions and the EDIFACT DELFOR, ORDERS, DESADV, INVOIC, DELJIT in versions 92.1 and D97A.

Oil and Gas Industry
DESC initially supported this clients' legacy EDI tool. When the client decided to migrate to the webMethods platform they again relied on us. We migrated their EDI infrastructure from the legacy EDI tool to webMethods 6.01.in just 6 weeks, which met a critical deadline. The purchase of an additional company led to the integration of SAP into the process. We later upgraded from webMethods 6.01 to 6.1. The project was focused around logistics where the ANSI X12 Transaction Sets 856, 810, 813 and EDIFACT INVOIC were used.

Forestry Products Industry
As a long-standing client of DESC, we have upgraded their legacy EDI environment, provided Trading Partner rollout, EDI Version migration and training to them. When they choose to venture into their first B2B project webMethods was chosen as the tool and DESC was chosen to provide the necessary technical expertise. We went on to use webMethods to integrate the client with a Forestry portal utilizing the xCBL XML standards. The B2B project was Order Management base where we used the xCBL XML Order, Order Acknowledgement and Invoice. The client later decided to migrate the EDI infrastructure to the webMethods platform as a cost saving measure. This project was also Order Management based where we utilized the ANSI X12 Transaction Sets 810, 850,832,856. JAVA Services for webMethods were developed to satisfy some of their complex file management requirements. Over the years DESC has upgraded their infrastructure from 4.0 to 4.02 to 4.6 to 6.01 of webMethods.

Tier 1 Auto Parts Suppliers
DESC was retained to work with their internal team to migrate their existing EDI environment to a new environment, EDI Windows, and to integrate the process into a new internal financial system. This project had a financial focus with emphasis on the ANSI X12 820, 821 and 823 and EDIFACT PAYEXT and FINSTA.

This client outsourced their legacy systems support and EDI development to us so they could use their internal staff to concentrate on over-hauling their complete IT infrastructure. Our accurate and timely reporting and professional customer service allowed the client to continue to focus on over-haul.
